So I was stoked to read John Clark’s post explaining how to move multiple apps at once. Adding Home screen widgets in iOS 14 can also mess up app organization-something I did while playing with widgets deleted about half of my folders on one Home screen. Since the loss of the organizational tools in iTunes, the immense effort in dragging hundreds of icons around has dissuaded me from cleaning things up. However, I have 352 apps installed (check your number in Settings > General > About). I admire such attention to detail, and in an ideal world, I’d use a similar approach.

If you don’t see an X, it’s either a required Mac App or it didn’t come from the App Store.

Click the X next to the app icon you want to delete.

Delete an app from the Launchpad. This action will remove the app from your computer.

To add additional apps to the folder, drag and drop those apps onto the folder icon.

Click outside the folder to return to the main list of apps.

Click the name of the folder (above the app icons).

This creates a folder that contains just these two apps.

Create a group folder. It may be helpful to organize your apps into different folders by category.

Move an app to a new location. To rearrange apps in the Launchpad, click and drag the app icon to the desired position.

If you don’t see an app you know you’ve installed, you may just need to move that app to the Applications folder.
